Compressor package
A compressor package is the complete, skid-mounted compressor unit — engine or motor, cylinders, coolers and controls — ready to install in the field.
A compressor package is the full assembled unit a service company delivers to a customer: the compressor itself paired with its driver (a gas engine or electric motor), coolers, controls, piping, and the skid it all sits on, engineered to be trucked to a location and hooked up as a single piece of equipment rather than assembled on site. Companies work closely with manufacturers to design packages around a specific application, whether that's a small vapor recovery unit or a larger wellhead or gathering compressor.
On the show, a compressor package built specifically to run without flaring or venting gas, with a smaller footprint and no oil to service, is described as a direct response to customer and regulatory pressure to cut emissions, showing how package design keeps evolving as operators demand cleaner, lower-maintenance equipment.
